Guimaras-native Jovelyn Gonzaga just completed her mission of completing the Army’s basic course schooling with an average of 90.47%.

Previously, “The Bionic Ilongga” confirmed that she already begged off from the 2021 Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) indoor tryouts as she prioritized her schooling in the Army over volleyball.

Now that she is done with her Army schooling stint, Gonzaga is ready to focus on volleyball.

Gonzaga confirmed to SPIN Life that she expressed her desire to try out for the PH national beach volleyball squad, “Game na sa beach volleyball,” she said.

In a post on social media, PNVF beach volleyball head Charo Soriano also expressed that Gonzaga is welcome to be a part of the pool, “A legend takes on the beach. Honoring your indoor volleyball journey and at the same time excited for your beach volleyball path. We’re here for you, Jov.”

During her younger years, Gonzaga was a consistent beach volleyball player in the country and even represented team PH in different national and international competitions.

Gonzaga clarified that joining the beach volleyball scene doesn’t mean she will be leaving her club in the Premier Volleyball League, the first professional league in the country.
