Jovelyn “The Bionic Ilongga” Gonzaga, the pride of Guimaras, made the 14-member Philippine women’s volleyball team in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.

Coming back from a disappointing season last year due to a torn ACL, Gonzaga made her comeback this year and showed the entire volleyball community that she’s still the Gonzaga of old, hitting unique spikes off weird angles and putting on a solid offensive display both in the PSL and the PVL.

Gonzaga’s inclusion in the national team will be her third straight appearance, and it is nothing short of a pure blessing to her.

Joining Gonzaga for their third straight SEA Games appearance are star outside hitter Alyssa Valdez, Aby Maraño, and veteran Rhea Dimaculangan.

One of the notable members who will be having a comeback is Jia Morado, who badly missed the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia.

Completing the squad are Ces Molina, Mika Reyes, Dawn Macandili, Kalei Mau, Eya Laure, Maddie Madayag, Kath Arado, Majoy Baron, and Mylene Paat.

The team will leave for Tokyo in the third week of October for their final overseas training.
