Angel Jed Latorre of Iloilo was crowned Miss Teen International Philippines 2022 during the pageant’s coronation night in Pasig City on Saturday.

The 17-year-old beauty queen bested 14 other candidates to become the first Ilongga to win the title.

Taguig’s Meredith Brena placed first runner up while Acient Trinity Tabora of Bulacan took the second runner up.

Rounding up the top five winners are Regine Gonzales of Quezon Province and Albay’s Maria Socorro.

Latorre’s advocacy is to promote the cultural heritage of her hometown in Lambunao, Iloilo, and inspire her fellow Filipino youth.

“As an empowered youth role model, I consider my confidence and innate gift of speech to influence change. I am passionate to use my voice to channel kindness and inspiration in our community and the world around me,” she said.

Latorre is not new to the pageant scene as she participated in the Miss World Philippines contest in 2022.

She was also crowned Miss PRISSAP 2018 representing her school, Hua Siong College of Iloilo.

Latorre will represent the Philippines in the Miss Teen International pageant in India in December 2023.
