Iloilo’s alleged top drug personality was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation Tuesday afternoon in Concepcion town.

Police said Clint Monton, 37, was nabbed at his house in Barangay Poblacion, Concepcion.

Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU), together with the Concepcion Municipal Police Station and 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, collared the suspect for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P7,500.

Following his arrest, police recovered eight small and nine big sachets, including the buy-bust item of suspected shabu, the marked money, a fragmentation hand grenade, a digital weighing scale, a bundle of transparent plastic sachets, identification cards, two lighters, and several non-drug items.

Major Rolando Araño, the incoming Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) spokesperson, said that seized drugs weighed around 50 grams and has a standard drug price of P340,000.

Monton has been ranked first on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6’s watchlist of illegal drug personalities.

He was arrested in a buy-bust operation in April 2015 but was eventually released after availing of the plea bargaining agreement.

Recently, he was monitored to be trading illegal drugs in several towns in the 5th district of Iloilo.

Monton also revealed to police that he sourced his supply from Negros Occidental and Iloilo City.

Monton is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosives.
