More than 5,000 jobs are up for grabs when the Iloilo provincial government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) holds its first face-to-face job fair in three years on June 10, 2022, at Robinsons Place Jaro in Iloilo City.

The 5,284 vacancies include 3,567 local jobs and 1,770 overseas jobs from 63 companies (48 local companies, 9 Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies, and 6 recruitment agencies for overseas employment).

Vacancies for local employment include, but are not limited to, administrative workers, accounting staff, loan accounts officers, management trainees, civil or site project engineers, warehouse staff, CCTV operators, and riders.

Overseas include:

– restaurant workers, automotive mechanics, chefs, and nurses for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;

– electrician, plummer, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician for Qatar;

– hairdressers, manicurists, and pedicurists for Romania;

– cleaners, draftsman, junior facial therapist, and junior male technician for the United Arab Emirates; and

– cashier, supervisors, and sales personnel for Bahrain.

PESO chief Francisco Heler Jr. said the local government units of Anilao, Barotac Nuevo, Cabatuan, Calinog, Lambunao, Maasin, Miagao, Passi City, San Dionisio, Santa Barbara, Sara, and Tigbauan will offer free rides for pre-registered job seekers.

Heler also said that they invited government agencies to set up help desks stationed in the job fair’s area to better assist potential applicants, but only 3 have affirmed their attendance.

The invited agencies include the Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), National Bureau of Investigation (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

“Only 3 [agencies] have confirmed and are sure to attend the job fair, these are the PRC, PhilHealth, and the NBI [which] will have an on-site issuance of NBI clearance for clients, for those who will not have hits on their record,” said Heler.

“We are looking forward that the rest of the government agencies [invited] would confirm within this week,” he added.

Pre-registration is available through personal application with the PESO at the 5th floor of the Iloilo provincial capitol, via online form here, or via the PESO Facebook page.

This will be the first physical job fair of the Iloilo provincial government since the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affected the province in 2020.
