Hard work really does pay off.

After four successful national and international taekwondo stints, the Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) Taekwondo gym dazzled during the Philippine Taekwondo New Face of the Year Poomsae Championships 2021.

Mr. Pinggol, head coach and founder of MVP gym, has always preached consistency and practice and is thankful with his students’ work ethic.

In the recently concluded New Face of the Year tournament, five prized MVP jins clinched medals in their respective categories.

Margarette Gem Obsequio, also representing the Great Thoughts Learning Center Iloilo, nabbed gold medal supremacy in the Grade school female red category.

Meanwhile, in the Senior female category, the popularly known Jilyn Rose Yap from the University of the Philippines Iloilo also won a gold medal.

In the Senior male black belt category, Joshua Cachero did what’s necessary to edge the other jins from Manila to win the silver medal.

Alicia Sophia Gutierrez is a fellow silver-medalist together with Cachero in the Senior female yellow-blue merge category while Elisha Miela Paradero delivered a bronze medal in the Cadet Female blue category.
