Iloilo MVP taekwondo gym reigns supreme in national event

The Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym maintained its dominant form and dominated during the 45th Philippine Taekwondo Association National Championships held at the Ayala Malls, Manila Bay.

Despite the busy competing schedule in a span of two months, the Pinggol-mentored taekwondo jins showed poise under pressure and collected a total of eight golds, three silvers, and five bronze medals during the prestigious event.

With the 16 total clinched medals, the Iloilo MVP taekwondo gym was awarded as the tournament’s second runner-up in the grade school girls’ black-belt division.

Leading the list of the MVP gold medalists are Jhed Anthony Morata, Samantha Gayle Go, Ianna Gabriella Rosales, Maria Beatriz Santos, Prince Ivan Dugayo, Mc Greg Alfonso Donguila, Mary Bernadette Algarja, and Mickael Wynn Cerbo.

Meanwhile, the silver medalists were Reyven Ken Decolongon, Sophia Maria Bautista, and Eduardo Adenic III.

Completing the final five medalists for the MVP gym are Cian Veedant Alonday, Eujean Ivanka Castete, Anna Francesca Cordova, James Annrhey Pecayco, and Sophia Grace Go.

Special mentions during the competition are the top 10 qualifiers in their respective categories: Red Dyron Lusaya, Khent Warlie Donguila, Enzo Lucio Cape, Sheine Nicole De Asis, and Jannah Ysabel Velez.

After the 2022 PTA National Championships, Mr. Pinggol and his jins will immediately go back to training and will gear up for more national and international stints with only four months remaining before the tournament calendar ends.
