Iloilo cops reach out to school kids

Iloilo Police Provincial Office personnel led by Lieutenant Colonel Ruby Gumban, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration, together with Pastors Jake Tupaz and Vicente Gelladula of Iloilo Baptist Church conducted gift-giving and feeding program at San Rafael Central Elementary School and Ilongbukid Elementary School on December 5, 2019.

“We are here today to show you that we are your friends so we appeal to parents not to scare their children that we will imprison them if they misbehave,” Gumban said.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Romar Peregil, Chief of IPPO’s Police Community Affairs and Development Section had a brief lecture on the ill-effects of illegal drugs while Pastor Jake Tupaz focused his lecture on spirituality and morality.

The teaching staffs of both schools were thankful to the PNP for going the extra mile to bring happiness to their pupils.

Aside from assorted toys and snacks, a free haircut session was also offered at Ilongbukid Elementary School.

Storybooks and Holy Bibles were also donated by the Iloilo Baptist Church to Ilongbukid Community Library, which was established in 2012 by IPPO.

As Christmas draws nearer, Iloilo PNPwill undertake various outreach projects like this one, to bring them closer to the community. * (GPM)
