The City of Love will be treated to a list of sporting events from the last week of November until December 2021.

Following the return of contact sports after Iloilo City was declared under COVID-19 Alert Level 2, Executive Assistant for Sports and Youth Mr. Rudiver Jungco Sr. laid out the 3rd Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Holiday Sporting Events as a treat to all Ilonggos before 2021 ends.

The Iloilo City Sports and Development Division will be holding tournaments in Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB), Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Chess, and Badminton as confirmed by Jungco Sr. in an exclusive interview with Daily Guardian.

All the events will still be exclusive for those who are already fully vaccinated as part of the minimum health and safety protocols of Iloilo City.

Aside from these events, Jungco Sr. also confirmed that they are already gearing up for the return of the highly-anticipated Dinagyang Basketball that has a temporary kick-off date of January 2022.

However, the final list of teams is yet to be announced and it is still not sure whether there will be holdovers from the previous batch of teams that joined during the Dinagyang Cup 2019 won by the stacked DPWH team.

According to the schedule of the sporting events, the tournament for the MLBB will now begin today, the table tennis the day after, and the rest will be starting in the first week of December.
