With the proposed Iloilo Sports Academy to be launched this 2020, the Iloilo City Sports Development Division also pushed for certified coaches in order to advance their goal of quality training for excellent results.

The proof of accreditation from the National Sports Association and the Philippine Sports Commission for the coaches not only in the ISA but for all the sports programs that Iloilo City will hold will be needed if they want to apply as trainers for the City Sports.

Executive Assistant for Sports Mr. Rudiver Jungco Sr. emphasized the need of quality coaches for their upcoming sports programs, stating that for the Ilonggos to elevate and to excel even more in sports, they also need coaches who are legally accredited by the NSA and PSC to ensure the right training for the athletes.

Jungco also said that the accreditation is not only for their coach’s credibility, but also to ensure and to monitor the coach’s legality as a trainer.

“I want the coaches in the sports programs to be accredited by the NSA and the PSC. Not only to ensure their ability to level up the Ilonggos, but also to make sure that the government’s money will not go to waste. We’ve experienced some trainers and coaches who self-credit themselves just to get money in the city hall and we already know their whereabouts and they are no longer allowed here in the sports office,” Jungo told the Daily Guardian in an interview.
