Hundreds of skateboarders in Iloilo City gathered to celebrate the 2022 Go Skateboarding Day “Spot2x” and successfully launched the prestigious event with several activities that entertained the Ilonggos last June 19, 2022.

Organized by internationally-renowned local skater Christopher Leccio Hurich popularly known as “Ping” in collaboration with Skate Life Iloilo, the Go Skateboarding Day was made possible and conducted a Push Parade which started at the City Times Square Bridge and was continued in different selected locations.

For every location, Ping and the rest of his organizing committee set up different challenges and were joined by the different top local skaters in Iloilo City.

The first set location was from 10 AM- 12 PM at the 0124 Skateshop at Smallville Complex followed by the Iloilo Public Skatepark from 12 PM-2 PM, 2 PM- 4 PM at the side of Gaisano Lapaz and the last stop was at the Esplanada in Lapuz from 4 PM- 6 PM.

It was a surreal feeling for Ping and the rest of the Iloilo skaters after the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on their year-round plans for the City of Love.

The different winners in the different stops then received various prizes including different products and merchandise handed by the thoughtful sponsors.

From the virtual skateboarding competition conducted by the Iloilo City Sports Development Division headed by Executive Assistant Rudiver Jungco Sr., the Iloilo skaters are finally getting a taste of real action and can formally conduct face-to-face events.

Ping and the rest of the organizing committee would like to thank Vans, Ill City Clothing, Grampy Lifestyle, Stbbrn, Flipz Burger, Skatewerx Skate shop, The Highcraft PH, Collide Skate Co., Brbyby Iloilo, Greenhouse, 0124 Skate shop, and Big Bad Bowls.
