Iloilo City down to last 100 active COVID-19 cases

Active COVID-19 cases in Iloilo City, or those who have yet to recover, are down to 100 as infections continue to drop in December 2021.

As of Dec 7, the Department of Health (DOH)-6 regional office recorded 100 active cases in the city.

Nine patients are currently staying in the city’s designated quarantine facilities while 29 are under home quarantine.

The number of new cases in Iloilo City continued to drop in the first five days of December.

From Dec 1 to 5, the city only logged eight new cases, with two days registering zero cases on Dec. 1 and Dec. 5.

The latest number is 82 percent compared to 45 cases logged on Nov 1 to 5.

Meanwhile, the daily average of new cases is down to two cases per day in December against nine the previous month.

Based on the DOH-6 data, the city has logged 21,890 cases (21,175 recoveries and 607 deaths).

From Nov 1 to 18, the city logged 139 cases or an average of 8 cases per day, compared to October with 890 cases or a daily average of 49.

As of 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, the city logged one new case, a 57-year-old unvaccinated male from MV Hechanova, Jaro. (ERS)
