THE street volleyball tournament organized by the Guimaras provincial government was a success, with hundreds of players gracing the event to help fellow Guimarasnons rise from the Iloilo Strait tragedy.

For the men’s category, Team Loyalty bagged the championship, Team Black Phoenix is in second placers, and Team Hot Cuts landed in third.

In the women’s category, Team Ball Busters nailed the top spot, Team Supang National High School Seniors is second, and Team Plok-Plok in grabbed third spot.

Aside from playing, the more than 100 participants also donated cash, canned goods, and food packs.

The donations were then turned over to the provincial government for distribution to the families affected by the Iloilo Strait Tragedy.

Aside from the street volleyball tournament for a cause, the event also saw the launching of the street volleyball rule book.

Provincial sports consultant Richard Gabayoyo authored the rulebook.
