House of retired BJMP chief ransacked

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Some P20,000 cash were stolen when unidentified person ransacked the house of a retired chief of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) official Friday last week at Sitio Paghidaet in Brgy. Putian, Cuartero Capiz.

Aside from the cash, Virginia Denosta, 70, also lost important documents to the burglars.

In an investigation conducted by Cuartero Municipal Police Station, Denosta and her family left on a 3-day trip to Iloilo, leaving the house unmanned.

It was learned that before leaving, Denosta received from a sibling a check for P1.190 million which could be the target of the suspect.

The suspects remain unidentified.
