Philippines’ Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz will be receiving the first-ever MILO Champion of Grit and Glory award after her historical lift during the Tokyo Olympics.
Diaz is set to be awarded in the upcoming San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (SMC-PSA) Annual Awards Night to be held at the Diamond Hotel on March 14.
“MILO Philippines presents the award to Hidilyn Diaz in recognition of her historic Olympic triumph, borne of her unwavering spirit, dedication, and grit that serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for the nation,” MILO said in a statement.
Aside from the award, Diaz will also be receiving several MILO products as part of the bonuses that the company confirmed.
This will be a double celebration for Diaz as she will also be receiving her Athlete of the Year award together with her MILO Champion of Grit and Glory award on the same night.
MILO officials reported to assist during Diaz’s trophy presentation are Veronica Cruz, Senior Vice President, Business Executive Officer, MILO Philippines, and Lester P. Castillo, Assistant Vice President, Head of MILO Sports, MILO Philippine.
The awards night is presented by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), and Cignal TV.
