ROXAS CITY, Capiz – City Health Officer Dr. Lorie Cahilog is worried of a dengue outbreak here after 56 dengue cases were recorded in the city recently.

Cahilog has urged everyone to observe the 4 o’clock habit or regular cleaning of their surroundings to avoid dengue carrying mosquitoes from multiplying.

She said the whole barangay must observe the habit of maintaining cleanliness.

Cahilog reminded the public that fogging is not effective because it only drives out the mosquitoes.

Eliminating their breeding grounds is the more effective way of curbing infections.

“Dapat nga mapukan gid naton ang mga gina-itlogan okon ginapugaran sang mga lamok nga nagadala sang dengue”, she stressed.

Records from the CHO indicated that barangay Mongpong has 6 dengue cases.

She said only a few barangays have yet to report the status of dengue infections in their areas.
