One of the most electrifying guards in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament just completed his transfer to the NCAA.

Harvey Pagsanjan, the orchestrator of the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors last UAAP season, is set to wear the uniform of the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals participating in the NCAA.

The latest collegiate basketball personnel shift was confirmed last January 31, 2023, announced by the EAC coaching staff.

This will not only be a key move for the Generals but will also set up a reunion between Pagsanjan and newly appointed EAC head coach Jerson Cabiltes.

Several years ago, Cabiltes helped hone Pagsanjan’s basketball talent after becoming his chief mentor when he was still the superstar of Hope Christian High School.

“Harvey is very important to me especially here in EAC. Me and Coach Steve Tiu have known him since he was still a kid. So for me, malaking bagay na kasama ko si Harvey dito sa EAC kahit for one year lang,” said Cabiltes.

However, Pagsanjan will have to sit out one full playing year due to compliance with residency rules and can play for the Generals in the NCAA Season 100.

Pagsanjan emerged as one of the steadiest contributors for the Red Warriors during his senior year and averaged 5.08 points and 4.08 rebounds per game.

The two-way guard was also one of the key contributors during UE’s upset over the De La Salle University Green Archers last UAAP regular season.

“Siyempre, si Coach Jerson at Coach Steve yun. Tinutulungan nila ko sa lahat. Gusto ko rin makatulong sa kanila at parehas kami mag-bebenefit,” said Pagsanjan.
