Half-million Capizenos to elect leaders

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – More than half a million Capiceno registered voters are expected to cast their votes today, May 13, 2019 to elect local leaders, including partylists and 12 senators.

Based on records of the Commission on Election (Comelec) here, Capiz has 513, 329 registered voters with Roxas City having the most number with 104,264.

Tapaz town has 35,474 voters; Panay – 32,933; Pontevedra – 30,559; Dumarao – 29,267; Mambusao – 28,735; Pilar – 28,561; Panit-an – 27,249; Maayon – 26,235; Jamindan – 25,005; Dao – 22,242; Sigma – 22,137; Dumalag – 21,748; Ivisan – 20,685; Pres. Roxas – 19,788; Cuartero – 19,544.

Sapian has the lowest number of voters at 18,903.

On the other hand, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Roxas City and the province of Capiz are ready for the May 13 midterm election.

According to Police Colonel Canilo Fuentes, Capiz police director, two PNP personnel will be deployed to every polling precincts in the province and they will be on duty until May 15, 2019.

He said members of some government organisations that will support the police during election day.

Fuentes reminded the public not to sell their votes and avoid going to voting precincts drunk.
