The former top overall pick during the 2013 draft announced his exit from the big league.

Greg Slaughter, the Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel all-star center, announced that he will take a break from basketball after his contract with Ginebra expired.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Slaughter said that he will be taking a step back from the sport that he loves to focus more on his personal development.

“Now that my contract has expired, I’ve decided to take a break to be able to work on myself in all aspects. I may not know what the future holds, but one thing is for sure, the best is yet to come!” said Slaughter in his IG post.

A loyal Gin King since he got drafted, the former PBA Best Player of the Conference helped Ginebra garner four championships and became one of the faces of the Ginebra team that consistently advanced to the PBA playoffs.

“I will forever be proud to have played for Ginebra, a dream of mine that came true when they drafted me in 2013. 6 years, 4 championships, a lifetime of experiences and memories. It’s been a fun ride being with this team,” Slaughter also said in his IG post.
