BACOLOD City – A male teenager was arrested in a police checkpoint at Barangay I Poblacion, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental last Friday.

Police withheld the name of the suspect who is a Grade 10 student aged 16.

Captain Hancel Lumandaz, Moises Padilla police chief, said the suspect was riding a motorcycle, along with another minor-companion when they were flagged down in a checkpoint at the area past 9 p.m.

Authorities recovered from the suspect’s bag an improvised shotgun and eight live ammunition of the same firearm while his companion had no violation.

Lumandaz said the suspect denied owning the firearm, claiming he was just asked by someone to bring it.
