GMA Regional TV launches its morning news programs; solidifies GMA as the ‘News Authority of the Filipino’

Starting February 6, 8 AM, Kapuso viewers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will have first access to latest and relevant local news as GMA Regional TV (RTV) launches its morning news shows brought by the same teams who produce the award-winning RTV weekday flagship afternoon newscasts.

“We start 2023 with the launch of GMA Regional TV morning news programs as we remain steadfast in our mission to enriching the lives of Filipinos everywhere with the responsible delivery of news and information in various communities across the Philippines, solidifying GMA Integrated News as the ‘News Authority of the Filipino,’” says Oliver Victor Amoroso, First Vice President and Head of GMA Regional TV and Synergy, and Acting Head of GMA Integrated News.

From North Central Luzon, catch Mornings with GMA Regional TV anchored by award-winning regional news producer Joanne Ponsoy with presenter Harold Reyes. The pioneering morning show is produced by the team behind the top-rating and award-winning afternoon flagship newscast GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon. Joining Joanne and Harold are Pangasinan-based regional correspondents Jasmin Gabriel-Galban, Russel Simorio, and Claire Lacanilao; Ilocos-based regional correspondent Ivy Hernando and a wide network of stringers in Abra, Aurora, Bataan, Batanes, Benguet, Cagayan, Isabela, La Union, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Pampanga, Quirino, Tarlac, and Zambales.

Following its recent special citation for Best Public Service Program from the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), GMA Regional TV Live! will keep Kapuso viewers in the loop for important local news. Anchored by GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak award-winning regional correspondent Nikko Sereno and veteran news presenter Cecille Quibod-Castro, the program continues its brand of serbisyong totoo in Central and Eastern Visayas. Joining them are regional correspondents Alan Domingo, Lou-Anne Mae Rondina, and Fe Marie Dumaboc with stringers from Bohol, Leyte, Negros Oriental, Samar, and Siquijor.

Meanwhile, the first-ever unified Hiligaynon TV morning program, GMA Regional TV Early Edition, now delivers the latest news for Western Visayas. Stay updated with broadcast journalist Adrian Prietos and news presenter Kaitlene Rivilla. With them are Iloilo City-based regional correspondents Zen Quilantang, Darylle Marie Sarmiento, and John Sala; and Bacolod City-based regional news producer Aileen Pedreso. Also contributing the latest stories are stringers in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo Province, and Negros Occidental.

Viewers in Mindanao can catch more news that matters to them with At Home with GMA Regional TV. The first and only unified morning news program in Mindanao, At Home with GMA Regional TV is anchored by award-winning Davao-based regional correspondent Jandi Esteban, Cagayan de Oro-based regional news producer Cyril Chaves, Zamboanga-based regional news producer Krissa Dapitan, and General Santos-based regional news producer Abbey Caballero. With the team are Davao City-based regional correspondent Rgil Relator and regional news producer Kent Abrigana; General Santos City-based regional news producer Jestoni Jumamil; Cagayan de Oro-based regional news producer James Paolo Yap; and Zamboanga-based regional news producer Efren Mamac.
