BACOLOD City – A 13-year-old girl was found unconscious in a sugarcane field after she was allegedly sexually abused by her stepfather’s cousin in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental Monday, November 11.

Police withheld the name of the victim, who is a Grade 8 student.

Police Major Robert Mansueto, city police chief, said the victim was supposed to go to school when the suspect identified as Marlon Beboso Jr., offered to send her to school.

The victim rode the suspect’s motorcycle and while on their way to school around 5 a.m., Beboso allegedly dragged her to the sugarcane field and hit her head with a rock several times, the city police chief said.

Then the suspect allegedly raped her and left her in the area, he added.

A resident discovered the victim at the area, with her skirt already pulled up. She was then rushed to Cadiz City District Hospital.

Mansueto said the victim sustained multiple head lacerations and was transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here, where she is currently confined.

Mansueto said they are still waiting for the results of the medical examination to confirm if the victim was sexually molested.

He also said that police are looking for Beboso, who remains at-large.
