The PLDT Power Hitters just signed volleyball coach George Pascua as its new chief orchestrator after parting ways with legendary head coach Roger Gorayeb.

A couple of days ago, the Power Hitters confirmed the departure of their long-time coach, stating that his contract already expired last December 31.

“Started coaching PLDT in 2013 in the MVP Olympics and it was a memorable ride since then,” said the seasoned coach Gorayeb.

Pascua is no stranger to the volleyball scene and was the head coach of the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws since 2017 and reached the UAAP finals a year after but settled for the silver medal.

The decorated head coach was also at the forefront of leading Petron to the championship last 2014 during the PSL Grand Prix.

However, this will be Pascua’s first time to coach at the professional volleyball level in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

Pascua last obtained a head coaching post in the semi-professional league Philippine Superliga (PSL) during 2018 with the Sta. Lucia Realtors.

He will be trying to fill the spot of coach Gorayeb who helped mold the team during his eight-year run as the head coach and led PLDT to the 2015 Open and Reinforced Conference titles in the Shakey’s V-League.
