From hesitation to rejection

By Modesto P. Sa-onoy

This is unbelievable but true as the words came out from the mouths of people who threaten us with various forms of sanctions if we were not vaccinated.

On Thursday, I got information from LifeSiteNews (May 24) of a hearing before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions featuring the top officials involved in the formulation of orders for people to follow in relation to the spread of the Covid-19 and the campaign for vaccination.

The guests in the hearing were Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Peter Marks of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) head Dr. Rochelle Walensky.

They were asked many questions but what attracted me most were their answers to the inquiry on how many of their employees have taken the experimental coronavirus vaccines. The senator was emphatic that the vaccines are “experimental.”

They looked surprised and Fauci stammered saying he did not know but made an estimate of “about 60%”. Marks failed to answer and Walensky said she did not know but offered a guess, just about the same percentage as Fauci. She justified the low acceptance of the experimental vaccines to the absence of a law that would compel their employees to be inoculated.

That prompted the senator to criticize them. They mandated that people should be vaccinated like young people denied schooling for refusing to get the vaccine and yet they could not impose on their employees. It is a crime to compel people to be vaccinated against their will, Walesnsky said. Consent is necessary

It seems their guesses were face saving. The actual number of their employees refusing the jab could be much higher.

Why would almost half of their employees refuse vaccination? I suspect they know that these vaccines, experimental as they are, can have immediate, mid-term and long term adverse effects.

The vaccines in use today are still undergoing testing with millions of people used like guinea pigs. Technically these vaccines have no license as yet.

There was an earlier report that the provincial government of Occidental Negros is “strengthening its advocacy awareness” of the need for vaccination as it “admitted having a problem in the acceptability of Covid-19 vaccines at the local level.” The problem is not the vaccine but “a shortage of people to be inoculated.”

Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz was also reported to have “admitted that there is low acceptability of the vaccines.”

On the other hand, the other day report said that Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jessica Pama attributed the low acceptability of the vaccine to “fake news” in social media. She “advised Negrenses to get to get Covid-19 vaccination information from valid and legitimate sources, such as the World Health Organization, Department of Health, or local government unit health advocacy programs, and not on social media.”

Is she absolutely certain that the WHO, DoH and local government units advocating for the vaccine are telling the whole truth and that there are no other credible sources of information? She must be joking and thinking that only government is telling the truth. In fact, is she? Are not government agencies speaking with orchestrated “facts”?

Pama even said that “fake news on social media is not valid and evidence-based.” Of course, they are not valid if they are fake, but there is an abundance of news outside of WHO, DoH and local governments that have solidly valid and heavily evidence-based data that Pama probably missed in her narrow readings.

I wonder though whether Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang is not listening to Pama’s sources but only on social media when he said there are still some problems in vaccination acceptance at the local level, which are now being addressed.

Would Pama consider the British Broadcasting System as a peddler of fake news? BBC claimed that “reports from other countries said that the initial reluctance for the vaccine has turned into rejection. This rising refusal of the vaccine was strengthened by another report (May 21) by the BBC citing the case of Seychelles 21.

Let’s continue on Monday.
