ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Four more barangays here were declared drug-free.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Aron Palomo, Roxas police chief, said the new drug-free villages are Adlawan, Cogon, Gabuan and Cabugao.

Palomo said that when he assumed office in 2021, only 12 villages were cited as drug-free – Barangays 2, 3, 4, 6, Olotayan, Punta Cogon, Bago, Balijuagan, Bato, Jumaguicjic, and Liong.

At present, 16 out of 47 barangays here have been drug cleared.

Palomo called for the support of the people in the campaign against illegal drugs by reporting suspected drug peddlers to their office.

He asked the parents and guardians to always monitor the movement of their children to prevent them from falling for illegal activities.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was jailed at President Roxas Municipal Police Station after he was arrested in a drug buy-bust Thursday evening at Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz.
