EDUARD “Landslide” Folayang, a former two-time ONE FC Lightweight champion, will look to bounce back and redeem himself against former UFC Lightweight champion veteran Eddie “Underground King” Alvarez as they clash today August 2, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Filipino MMA star slugger said he idolized Alvarez during the latter’s peak when he dominated the UFC and Bellator MMA.

“He’s one of those athletes that I spent a lot of time watching before,” he said in a pre-fight press conference.

Win or lose, Folayang said fighting a quality champion like Alvarez is already a huge honor for him.

The wushu practitioner vows to use everything he learned in training against the wrestling and boxing skills of Alvarez.

“My preparations have gone well. I lost my belt last March, that chapter of my career has closed. It’s time to write another chapter of my journey,” Folayang added.
