Five nabbed for violating liquor ban

BACOLOD City – Five persons were collared for delivering liquor at Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental last Saturday amid the liquor ban.

Arrested were Michael Solatario, 42, of Barangay Pahanocoy; Gilbert De-ita, 32, of Barangay Mandalagan; Norberto Dela China, 29; Ariel Banaglorioso, 37; and Jennifer Belecina, 39, of Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, a report from Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) said.

An intelligence operative of La Castellana Municipal Police Station caught the suspects allegedly selling and delivering boxes of liquor, which is a prohibition of the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) rules of the province.

Police recovered from them 90 boxes of 750ml Tanduay Rhum, and 510 boxes of 375ml Tanduay Rhum.

The suspects are under police custody for disobedience in relation to Executive Order No. 020-040 or the extension of GCQ in the town until May 31, 2020, police records showed.
