FIBA releases basketball guidelines for post COVID-19

FIBA hopes to help other leagues with their basketball restart as they release guidelines (news.abs-cbn.com)

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) released its new set of guidelines for post- COVID-19.

After months of thorough discussion, the FIBA management finally posted the new guidelines not only for the application in their tournaments but to also help other leagues pattern their regulations for restart.

In the guidelines, high fives, handshakes, and hugs – considered as the three main acts of – sportsmanship in the sport, will no longer be allowed.

Personnel and players on the bench should also practice distancing, with all players and members of the team directed to leave their respective benches right after the game.

Moreover, fans are no longer allowed to request for autograph signing including picture takings with their favorite basketball stars.

For the arenas and training facilities, disinfection before and after games/practices should be performed religiously.
