Farmer nabbed for ‘raping’ neighbor

A 63-year-old farmer from Leon, Iloilo was arrested morning of Nov 23, 2022 over rape accusations.

Rolando Camince was nabbed at his home in a hinterland village of Leon.

Members of the Leon Municipal Police Station, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), the Alimodian MPS, Tigbauan MPS, and the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company collared the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for two counts of rape by carnal knowledge (Article 266-A Par. 1 of the Revised Penal Code) docketed under Criminal Case Numbers 22-88159 and 22-88160.

Camince was also accused of two counts of rape by sexual assault (Art. 226-A. Par. 2 of the RPC, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353) docketed under Criminal  Case Numbers 22-88161 and 22-88162.

Judge Juana Patriarca Panigbatan-Nafarete of the Regional Trial Court Branch 38 in Iloilo issued the warrants of arrest on Nov. 15, 2022.

No bail was recommended for the two counts of rape by carnal knowledge while a P120,000 bail was set for each case of rape by sexual assault.

Lieutenant Melchor Tolentino, Leon police chief, said Camince is the town’s ninth most wanted person.

He was accused of raping a woman, who was then 21 years old, in July 2020.

Camince is now detained.
