Experts to convene in Iloilo City for Int’l Livestock Biotechnology gab

WITH the goal of responding to the rising demand for safe, quality, and sufficient supply of livestock and its by-products in the country and in the ASEAN region, the Department of Agriculture-Livestock Biotechnology Center (LBC) and the University of San Agustin are jointly organizing the 4th International Livestock Biotechnology Symposium on July 15, 2019 at the University Review Center, University of San Agustin (USA) in Iloilo City, Philippines.

The Symposium is an annual event that gathers local and foreign biotechnology experts to report on new discoveries, share data and insights, and advance collaborative efforts on livestock research and development for the Philippine livestock industry for the benefit of the Filipinos.

The hosting of the symposium in Iloilo is a product of the institutional biotechnology partnership between the Philippine Carabao Center-LBC and USA. This event also coincides with the 115th Foundation Day celebration of  USA, further supporting its status as one of the leading research universities in the country.

Themed “Demand-driven Innovation for a Resilient Philippine Livestock Industry”, the one-day Symposium will address challenges in livestock production, animal breeding and antimicrobial resistance, and food-borne pathogens through plenary discussions, open forum, and press conference.

Interested participants are advised to pre-register and confirm on or before July 5, 2019. Registration is free, however slots are limited.
