A man convicted for an illegal drug-related offense was arrested once more for the same charge afternoon of Feb 4, 2022 in Jaro, Iloilo City.

Bonjie Divinagracia, 31, a native of Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo City but presently residing at Zone 2, Barangay Calubihan, Jaro, was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation at Taytay Zone 2, Barangay Bantod.

Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) and the Iloilo City Police Station 3 collared Divinagracia after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P7,000.

Recovered from suspect were six sachets of suspected shabu, the P7,000 marked money, P790 personal cash, and various non-drug items.

Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca, RPDEU-6 chief, said around 35 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P238,000 was seized from Divinagracia, who is allegedly a high-value individual (HVI) drug personality.

He was also arrested in a buy-bust operation on March 13, 2020 in Iloilo City.

In April 2021, he was released from jail after a plea-bargaining agreement.

According to the suspect, he is working as a driver of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).

The bust was conducted against Divinagracia following a tip from a concerned citizen last week.

Darroca said the suspect managed to establish a contact at the New Bilibid Prison.

Upon ordering, someone will deliver the drugs to him at a designated place.

Divinagracia claimed he did not know the courier who wore a crash helmet. He claimed that he paid for his stocks through GCash.

The suspect is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
