Electrician nabbed in Pontevedra drug bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 32-year-old electrician was arrested in a drug sting operation Tuesday afternoon at Brgy. Rizal, Pontevedra, Capiz.

The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Station Drug Enforcement Team of Pontevedra Police Station collared John Mark Borleo, 32, of Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas town.

Recovered from Borleo were four packs of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, motorcycle, and a cellphone.

The suspect is presently detained at Pontevedra municipal police station while charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.

Meanwhile, the Maayon Municipal Police Station nabbed a senior citizen for illegal possession of firearm in Brgy. Balighot, Maayon.

Police identified the suspect as Gerardo Monsale, 61, of said place.

Monsale is facing charges for allegedly violating Sec 28 (a) of the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act. A P200,000 bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The arrest warrant was issued by Roxas City Regional Trial Court Judge Ignacio I Alajar on August 14, 2020.

Monsale is presently detained at Maayon municipal police station.
