Electrician dies from electrocution

BACOLOD City – An electrician died after he was electrocuted then fell and hit his head to a rock at Sugar Valley Phase 2 in Barangay Efigenio Lizares, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Bernardo Benjamin, 59, of Barangay Zone 11.

Police Master Sergeant Ed Jomocan, investigator of Talisay City Police Station, said Benjamin was repairing an electric bulb holder on the second floor of a house, when he was electrocuted.

The caretaker of the house, who is the owner’s sibling, heard a loud thud outside.

When he checked, he saw the victim lying on the ground with head injuries.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

“Taas abi. Timing lang galing na pagkahulog niya, na igo gid ulo niya sa bato,” Jomocan said.

Jomocan said they also confirmed the incident through a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera of the house.
