Eight drug suspects arrested

BACOLOD City – Eight persons allegedly engaging in illegal drug trade were collared in five separate buy-bust operations here and in two areas in the northern part of Negros Occidental in the past three days.

Arrested here yesterday inside a pension house at Barangay 32 was Rommel Jamero, 35, of Barangay 27.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, said he is a high value target.

Recovered from Jamero were 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth P45,000, the P300 marked money, weighing scale, a .38-caliber revolver with ammunitions.

Jamero will be facing drug charges and another case for illegal possession of firearm and ammunitions.

In another operation on Monday, Hyrus John Tiping, 26, of Barangay Vista Alegre was nabbed at Barangay 30 for possession of five sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, and the P200 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 6.

Over the weekend, Michael Jimenez, 28, and Louie Nombre, 37, both residents of Barangay 26; and Mark Anthony Castillo, 28, of Molo, Iloilo City, were arrested at Brgy. 26 on July 14.

Authorities seized from them eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P63,600, and the P500 marked money. They are detained at Police Station 4.

In E.B. Magalona town, Jinmen Panganiban, 21, and Reyner Espinase, 34, both residents of Barangay Tabigue were nabbed Sunday at the said village. Cops confiscated from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P200 marked money.

Both suspects are on the station’s drugs watchlist, police records indicated.

In Sagay City, Richard Martinez, 19, of Barangay Malubon was arrested at Barangay Paraiso on the same day, after he allegedly yielded a sachet of suspected marijuana dry leaves, P200 marked money, an improvised tobacco pipe, lighter, and P60 cash.
