Eduard Folayang is optimistic he can return to his dominant form once the ONE Championships resume operations.

After the former champion lost his belt a couple of years ago, “The Landslide” suffered a series of defeats including a split decision loss against late replacement Pieter Buist on January 2020.

Last April 27, 2020, when ONE released their overall rankings, Folayang had to take a breather and absorb that it was the first time he was excluded in the top 5 best Lightweights of the league.

The results ignited a different kind of fire inside Folayang and the Team Lakay product is eager to return to the ring and start proving his mettle.

Christian “The Warrior” Lee earned the top spot, followed by Iuri Lapicus, Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev, Buist, Timofey Nastyukhin, and Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki.

“That’s added motivation for me, Now I know who I have to face and what I have to prepare for,” said the former champion.

Folayang added that he is eyeing to rack up consecutive wins and is eager to put his name back on the pedestal of the lightweight division and as much as possible, would be sweeter if he can cap it off with a belt hanging on his waist.

“I have to keep winning. I need to put together consecutive wins and it has to be done in impressive fashion. As much as possible, I want to get a finish in every match,” Folayang closed.
