‘DUGO MO, KABUHI KO’: DENR union holds bloodletting activity

DENR-6 Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla Jr. grace the “Dugo mo, Kabuhi ko”, the 3rd DENR-WV Employees Union Blood Letting Activity.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 6, though its Employees Union and in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC)-Iloilo Chapter, conducted the “Dugo mo, Kabuhi ko” the 3rd DENRWV Employees Union bloodletting activity at the DENR-6 Activity Center last Aug 30, 2019.

DENRWV Employees Union President Emma P. Delima thanked stakeholders and DENR personnel who donated their blood.

“We are very thankful to our donors who took part in this bloodletting activity.  I am happy to note that we have now an access to the blood bank of Red Cross which can benefit DENR employees and beneficiary families in case of emergencies,” Delima said.

“The DENRWV Employees Union also proposed to conduct a free medical mission before the year ends,” she added.

A total of 58 blood units were collected  with 23 units of Type O blood, 14 Type A, 15 Type B, and 6 Type AB.

Through this effort, DENR-6 continues to receive recognition from Red Cross.

In 2017, DENR 6 was a recipient of Red Cross’ Bronze Award, and recently, it also received a Certificate of Appreciation for its meritorious service in promoting blood services with a minimum of 50 units collected.

Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla Jr. also thanked Philippines Red Cross Iloilo Chapter, led by Blood Center Manager Denisse Roy M. Pasadilla for their active support and for another successful bloodletting activity. (DENR-6)
