DTI promotes PHL capabilities at Consumer Electronics Show 2023

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI), leads the promotion of the country’s top export sector in the global stage for innovation, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 in the United States of America.

Dubbed as the ‘most influential tech event in the world’, CES 2023 presents wide opportunities for the Philippines to promote its capabilities in the electronics industry and explore partnerships with academic and research institutions.

CES 2023 features manufacturers, developers, and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, content, technology delivery systems, and more; It also includes a conference program where the world’s business leaders and pioneering thinkers address the industry’s most relevant issues.

In line with the focus of CES 2023 to harness human-to-human interaction to keep the innovation engine moving forward, the Philippine mission aims to establish and strengthen trade and investments’ linkages with global industry players, advance research and development, promote Philippine start-ups, and gain information on the latest consumer products, technologies, and innovations.

Among the activities during the mission are Business Forum Networking Session on 06 January 2023 at the South Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center (S228); World Electronics Forum (WEF) Meeting with Key Message to be delivered by DTI Undersecretary Rafaelita M. Aldaba on 07 January 2023; and Silicon Valley Business Meetings on 09-11 January 2023.

The Philippine delegation also includes Airspeed International Corporation, Integrated Microelectronics Inc., Ionics EMS Inc., Kaertech Electronics Philippines, MERALCO, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Philippine Export Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

In 2021, the electronics industry remained the top contributor to the export sector, accounting for 61.5% or USD 45.9 billion of total Philippine merchandise exports. Electronics exports grew by 12.9% from 2020 to 2021.
