DTI-EMB supports participation of SMEs in ProPak Philippines 2023

The Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), in partnership with UBM Exhibition Philippines, Inc. (Informa Markets), supported the participation of six (6) small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the 3rd International Processing and Packaging Trade Event for the Philippines (ProPaK Philippines 2023) held on 01 – 03 February 2023 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay City.

The six packaging companies were featured in a pavilion to showcase their products, services, and capabilities. These include: Exelpack Corporation, JR Plastic Manufacturing Corporation, Megasamsotite Incorporated, Plastmann Industrial Corporation, Rotopack Manufacturing Corporation, Stafford Paper Corporation.

According to a report published by GlobalData on July 19, 2022, the Philippines’ packaging market size was valued at 60 billion units in 2021. During the period from 2021 to 2026, the market is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of more than 4%.

The report further states that the growth of flexible packaging is driven by its low cost and flexibility which is suitable for multiple shapes and sizes as well as easy closures. Furthermore, the use of cans is increasing.

The Philippines’ biggest international processing and packaging trade event, ProPaK Philippines 2023, focused on sustainability, automation, and packaging design.

A “Sustainability Square” was set up to provide visitors and exhibitors a venue to discuss sustainability in the packaging and processing sectors, including food, drinks, medicines, and cosmetics, to meet UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event has recent advancements in packaging and processing machines and technology from leading companies worldwide. The exhibition provided an industry-focused event that connected international suppliers to local and regional buyers in the food, beverages, pharmaceutical, and other industries.
