As their way of expressing concern for their fellow brothers and sisters in Mindanao, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI based in Iloilo sent relief goods to regions recently affected by earthquakes.

A total of 10,000 family food packs (placed in boxes) and 1,000 malongs were sent to DSWD Region 12 since Thursday, November 1, 2019, not minding the supposed work suspension because of the observance of the All Souls Day.

Regional Director Ma. Evelyn B. Macapobre, head of the DSWD FO VI, immediately instructed that the family packs be shipped. Collaborating with the Philippine Coast Guard, the first round of delivery of the packs was received in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.

Aside from this, 30 boxes of meatloaf, 30 boxes of corned beef and 50 bundles of used clothing were provided for DSWD Field Office 11.

The PCG has been helping DSWD FO VI in shipping the goods through its BRP Cape Engano MRRV 4411 vessel. (DSWD-6)
