BACOLOD City – A man allegedly engaging in the illegal drug trade was injured in a drug buy-bust at Purok Sunshine, Barangay 36 here yesterday.

Wounded was Sian Christian Dequiña, a street level individual, based on police records.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO’s public information officer, said Dequiña attempted to shoot police operatives but his homemade .38-caliber revolver jammed.

Police officers retaliated and hit him on his leg.

Recovered from Dequiña were 13 sachets of suspected shabu worth P136,000, the P1,000 marked money, the revolver, and a cellular phone.

He was taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here but was discharged a few hours later, Pico said.

Meanwhile, joint operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Talisay City Police Station arrested a high value target in a drug bust at Barangay Zone 10 last Sunday.

Apprehended was Raphy Duadores of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

PDEA-Negros Occidental head Nicolas Gomez said Duadores was identified as a regional target-listed drug personality in Western Visayas.

Gomez said Duadores is considered notorious because he allegedly distributed drugs to Panay, Negros, and Bacolod.

“His level is like part of a command group of a drug syndicate,” Gomez said, adding that Duadores is an alleged member of a drug group whom he refused to name.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of about 15 grams of suspected shabu worth P102,000, the P33,500 marked money and boodle money, and a Toyota Fortuner.

Gomez said Duadores will be facing charges for the sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
