A jobless man was arrested following a police anti-illegal drug operation evening of November 19 at Panay, Capiz.

Police identified the suspect as Rodel Isiderio, 28, a resident of Barangay Mongpong, Roxas City.

The suspect was arrested after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P25,000 to a police poseur buyer at a roadside in Barangay Tanza Norte, Panay.

After the transaction was consummated, members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6 and the Panay Municipal Police Station frisked the suspect and seized more sachets of suspected shabu from his possession.

Major Rommel Anicete, RPDEU-6 chief, said the seized illegal drugs from the suspect has a standard drug price of P884,000.

The RPDEU-6 has recently listed the suspect on its top 10 priority HVI (high value individual) list on illegal drugs because of the scope of his operation.

Anicete said that he sourced his supply from distributors in Panay Island and peddled it in the provinces of Capiz and Iloilo.

Isiderio allegedly could also dispose around 300 grams in a week.

Anicete said the suspect had a previous drug-related arrest but they have yet to ascertain the disposition of his case.

Isiderio is now detained in the lock-up cell of Panay MPS and would be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
