BACOLOD City – A man, who was previously charged for a drug offense, was again arrested in a buy-bust at Villa Angela, Barangay Villamonte here early Wednesday.

Police identified the subject as Oliver Hong, 49, of Barangay Handumanan here, who allegedly yielded 105 grams of suspected shabu worth P714,000.

Hong is said to be a high value individual, according to the police.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said that Hong was renting a place as he would always transfer from one area to another.

“Ga lumpat-lumpat siya, kay siya na gadag-dag sa mga retailers,” Gabana added.

During the operation, police operatives learned that Hong has an arrest warrant for service of sentence issued last year, Gabana said.

Hong probably failed to attend court hearings after he posted bail for his drug offense in 2020, he added.

The drug bust against Hong was led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), and PNP Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit-6.

Police also seized from Hong the P3,000 marked money.

Gabana said they are investigating the source of the contraband and if Hong is involved in a drug group.

Hong, who has yet to be reached for comment, is detained at Police Station 4. He will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
