A suspected drug courier was arrested with more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu following a police anti-narcotics operation morning of Dec 28, 2022 in Dumangas, Iloilo.

Abraham Camus, a tricycle driver from Rio Vista Homes in Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City, was nabbed after he disembarked at the Dumangas Ro-Ro Port in Barangay Sapao, Dumangas.

Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 and Dumangas Municipal Police Station collared the suspect after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer for P15,000.

When later frisked, Camus yielded 17 more sachets and one knot-tied plastic of suspected shabu, a mobile phone, and other non-drug items.

Lieutenant Glenn Soliman, RPDEU-6 team leader, said the seized drugs weighed around 185 grams and were valued at P1.258 million.

Camus told police operatives that a motorcycle rider he met at Lacson Street, Bacolod City told him to bring the shabu to Iloilo.

Soliman said they are working to identify the person behind Camus.

The suspect is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
