DRRM officers gather for resilience collaboration

BACOLOD City – Members of Alliance of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers of Negros Island (ARRMONI) Incorporated or Resilience Officers gathered to discuss contingencies for Mt. Kanlaon Eruption, Emergency Operations Center, among others.

Joe Recalex Alingasa Jr., ADRRMONI vice president for external affairs, said the Office of Civil Defense VI co-facilitated the convergence along with the hosting of the Negros Occidental Association of DRRM Officers and Practitioners (NOADROP) Inc. and the local government of Mabinay.

About a hundred DRRM Officers and practitioners across the Negros Island participated in the event which particularly discussed matters on the Mt. Kanlaon Eruption Contingency Plan, Typhoon Odette Experience, 2020-2030 National DRRM Plan, establishment of the Emergency Operations Center and introduction of state of the art monitoring and surveillance systems that will complement the capabilities of local operations center.

OCD VI, discussed the Contingency Plan for Mt. Kanlaon Volcano Eruption.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jose Yusay III, president of the ARRMONI, expressed thanked Mayor Ernie Uy and Dindo Amorganda, DRRM Officer of Mabinay for hosting the event.

Yusay reiterated that the alliance will continue to foster camaraderie and borderless commitment towards the collaboration of all resilience officers in Negros. (PIA)
