With a series of disappointing finishes their past seasons, the De La Salle Green Archers decided to make major changes not only in their coaching staff but also their roster.
The return of La Salle legend Derrick Pumaren spoke a lot about their move last January with the coaching helm passed to one of the most prized La Salle personnel.
Soon after being formally announced as the Green Archers’ coach, Pumaren wasted no time in doing his duty by filling up DLSU’s roster needs required for a championship run this season.
Former San Beda point guard Evan Nelle took his talents to DLSU and will be a crucial part of the bench as one of the veterans of the team.
Joshua Ramirez, an enforcer from the Letran Knights, also became a Green Archer after their historic championship run against San Beda.
The DLSU interior will be bolstered by 6’11’’ Senegalese center Amadou Ndiaye and this time will offer fair competition underneath against Ateneo and UST.
Lastly, DLSU will be bringing in two Fil-Am talents in Kameron Vales and Jeromy Hughes with the hopes of boosting their offensive consistency.
Vales, a 6-foot guard from California, averaged 9.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game during his stint with the University of Regina.
Meanwhile, Hughes, a versatile 6’3’’ combo guard from Las Vegas, averaged 9 points per game, 6.6 boards, and 1.3 assists, playing for Wenatchee Valley College.
