DENR-6 celebrates Environment Month 2022

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) 6 highlighted the #OnlyOneEarth campaign with various environmental activities in celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month last June themed “Aksyon Para sa Natatangin Mundo.”

The month-long celebration focuses on the different activities involving the DENR 6 employees and the public that will benefit not only the individual but the Earth we share, namely:

The Environment Month Kick-off Activity on June 1 was led by the DENR 6 Regional Executive Director Livino B. Duran. It started with a mass, followed by a Zumba session then the opening of Tiangge sa DENR and the Media Forum organized by the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG).

On June 6 to 8, the DENR Central Office together with the Administrative Division of DENR 6 led the Leadership and Environmental Summit participated by all the regions nation-wide; Marine Litter Launching and Adopt a Clean Air Station MOA Signing was spearheaded by the EMB on June 7; World Ocean Day Celebration, Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity, 1st Guimaras Bamboo Summit and MOPA Signing between DENR and 6th RCDG, ARESCOM on June 8.

During the Family Day on June 10, the DENR 35th Anniversary with a theme: Pistang Pamilyang DENR para sa Tuluy-Tuloy na Pagkakaisa at Tagumpay hosted the Pasiklaban sa DENR, a  showcasing of talents by the DENR employees and was carried out in both the regional level and national level; Laro ng Lahi with different set of games on June 13 to 17 was participated by the selected employees of the Regional and field offices.

HR @ UR Service was held on June 20 to 24 to bring closer to the employees the other government agencies’ services.

On June 25, the DENR in collaboration with the Forest Management Bureau (FMB) led the Bike.Hike.Plant (BHP+) at Maasin Watershed Forest Reserve in celebration of Arbor Day and the 159th Year of the Philippine Forestry Service. On June 27, the Pasidungog and DENR Culminating Activity were conducted to conclude the month-long celebration of Environment Month 2022.

Other activities that call for collective and sustainable action for the protection, development and conservation of our environment and natural resources were also conducted like tree planting activity, clean-up drives, Crown of Thorns (COTs) removal, rescue and release of wildlife, and IEC campaign.
