ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Eight alleged defective weighing scales were confiscated Tuesday, June 7, at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC) during a random check of the vendors.
According to TATC Administrator Heloise Mendoza, the weighing scales were taken from the market’s Fish Section.
“Regular namon nga ginapatigayon ang nasambit nga inisyatibo bangud hugot nga ginapamatukan ang pagpanunto sang mga negosyante sa mga bumalakal,” Mendoza said.
Mendoza reminded the vendors that they could be suspended and fined by the city government if they are caught using defective weighing scales thrice.
She stressed that acquiring a stall or table at the public market is not a right but a privilege given by the government.
