Dead man listed as SAP beneficiary

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man who died few weeks ago, was listed as one of the beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Brgy. Bolo here.

But the inclusion of the late Clarito Adagao Sr. in the list submitted by the punong barangay and Barangay Health Worker (BHW) of Barangay Bolo, Roxas City was merely accidental.

A certain Sally admitted that she was the one who listed Adagao as one of the beneficiaries of the half sack of rice distributed by Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas as relief aid for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The family of Adagao Sr. received the rice aid, which was released last month of March, Sally said.

Thinking that Adagao Sr. is one of the indigents of the village, she included his name in the SAP beneficiaries in Brgy. Bolo.

But unknown to her, Adagao Sr. died in Metro Manila few weeks ago.

Sally said she was also surprised when she was informed that Adagao Sr. was already dead.

His financial aid from DSWD was transferred to his children.

Bolo Punong Barangay Siolly Andrade said Adagao Sr. died only recently and his name was not deleted from the list.

He clarified that the list posted in the barangay hall of Brgy. Bolo is not yet final as there are some names to be deleted.
