DAR Employees’ Association hold bloodletting campaign

THE Department of Agrarian Reform Employees Association (DAREA) conducted a bloodletting activity jointly initiated by the DAREA Iloilo-Regional-Guimaras Chapters in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) for Western Visayas Regional Blood Center on July 22, 2019 at Novena Golden Jubilee Hall of St. Clement’s Compound, Luna St., La Paz, Iloilo City.

The activity was spearheaded by the three DAREA chapter presidents – Roel F. Flamiano (DARPO Iloilo), Annabel Gamosa (DARRO 6) and Abner Masiado (DARPO Guimaras).

Dr. Dennise Roy Pasadilla, PRC Blood Center manager, and his team supervised the bloodletting activity.

To be qualified, the donors must pass the physical and history screening and must meet the following qualifications: they must be in good health; ages 16 – 65 years old (donors 16 – 17 years old must have parental consent); and weigh at least 110 pounds.

Blood donation is a noble and heroic act of saving lives. Donors will also benefit as they get to know their blood type and physical condition, aside from helping people in need of blood.

17 out of 30 participants were successful blood donors. The extracted blood will be stored with the PRC for future use of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) employees and their direct family members.

DAREA is organized towards the achievement and total development of DAR employees nationwide to enhance the quality of public service through the implementation of the agrarian reform program.

DAREA appreciated the full support from DAR top management  headed by Regional Director Stephen M. Leonidas, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II  Lucrecia S. Taberna of DARPO-Iloilo, and Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Manuel Velasco.
