DAR-6 holds strategic planning workshop for LAD-FREE 2022

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Western Visayas last week conducted a Strategic Planning Workshop for LAD FREE 2022.

The objective of the activity, which was held on Jan 29-31, 2020 at EON Centennial Resort and Waterpark, Iloilo City is to formulate plans, projections and strategies, including budget requirements, personnel complement, capability development interventions and other administrative support mechanisms, to jumpstart various activities at the start of 2020.

This is one strategy organized by the office to address the call made by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to finish Land Distribution before the end of his term in 2022.

Dubbed as “LAD FREE by 2022” , Secretary John R. Castriciones gave order to all the Head of Operating Units restating the mandate of the President to fast track all LAD activities comprises of  Parcelization of Collective CLOA to Individual Titles,  coverage of Government Own Land (GOL),  including the regular targets and backlogs of New Lands, LAD interrupted landholdings and other Land Transfer Components of the program.

The three day workshop was divided into five stages, the “Where Are We Now” “Where Do We Want To Be” “How Can We Get There” , “What Is The Best Way To Get There” and finally “How To Ensure We Get There”.

The activity set in motion with ARD Lucrecia Taberna started out by presenting the DAR Region VI Accomplishment Report (to date) and the regional and provincial target per year from 2020-2022 for New Lands, Government Own Land (GOL), Parcelization of Collective CLOA and LAD Interrupted from 2020-2022.

The information was used as reference data for the series of workshops undertaken by every operating units in order for them to come up with their Operational Plan and Medium Term Plan at the end of the activity.

Former DAR Region VI Assistant Regional Director for Administration Manuel S. Libo-on was the invited resource person and main facilitator for the 3 day workshop.

This activity was attended by RD Sheila B. Enciso, ARD Lucrecia Taberna, ARD Gideon Umadhay, Jr together with all the Provincial Agarian Reform Officers I and II along with the regional and provincial Chief of the Divisions and selected Technical Staff.
